She's a girl!!!!!!!!

Well we had our 2nd ultrasound on Monday, Sept 21st and there is no doubt that our little one is a girl. This ultrasound tech was SOOOO much better than the first one, she got us more pictures of our little princess and assured us 100% that Avonlea is in fact a girl. We are so excited!!!!! I have attached a picture of Avonlea from the latest ultrasound, I love her little nose!!!! Can't wait to meet her!!!

Updates...

Well I just realized that I never updated the blog about the u/s results....well, we were told by the ultrasound tech that "She could not guarantee us that the baby is a girl, but she could guarantee us that it's not a boy", what does that mean!?! We also got to watch the baby moving around a bit and got about 10 pictures to take home. When we talked to the doctor afterward she said that the u/s tech is not a good one, and that there were a few things they were not able to get measurements of during the u/s. So we have another u/s scheduled for this coming Monday, September 21st. We are very excited to be able to see the baby again and hopefully get a "confirmation" on the gender. We have already gotten quite a few little outfits from Mom and Mom D, not to mention we found a baby book and a "coming home" outfit for a girl. We are really excited and hoping it is a girl since that is what we were told, but I have kept the tags/receipts for everything "just in case". Oh well, hopefully we will know more after the u/s on Monday!!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!

Well........TODAY IS THE DAY!!!! We have our u/s at 2pm today....right now it is 5:48am and I could not sleep LOL. We had a great day yesterday, we finally got the furniture that I posted about last post. It is beautiful!!! N and I stayed up until after midnight assembling the crib and getting the room straight, tonight we are having everyone over to announce the gender of baby!!! My biggest fear is that baby won't cooperate and that we won't be able to tell if it's a boy or a girl, but I am trying not to dwell on it :) I am just excited to finally be able to watch baby move and see how big it has grown!!! Oh well, just wanted to post an update!!!

Monday......

Well, today started out great for me....I was really excited when I woke up about going to lunch with Tori, and looking forward to going to look at/pickup the nursery furniture we found on Craigslist. Later after an awesome lunch with Tori, I come home to find that the lady's husband didn't get the furniture out of the attic, so she wants us to come on Thursday evening instead.....and THEN says that there is another family coming to look at the furniture on Thursday as well. I'm so mad! What if they go before we get there and they buy it?? I will be so upset!!!!! Especially since I wanted to go get it today and she made no mention of this other family earlier. *Sigh*

Looking pregnant......

Well for the last week or so I think I have started looking much more "pregnant". I am 17wk4days (the photo attached is from my 17wks), and now when I go places people comment about me being pregnant. N and I just went to lunch and the waitress said "Are you pregnant?" I told her yes I was and we talked for a few minutes about that. All I could think was "Well atleast I 'look pregnant' now!!"....also, I guess it's a good thing I really AM pregnant, otherwise...WHAT AN INSULT!!!!! hehehe. Oh well, we find out on Sept 4th if we are having a boy or a girl, I will be exactly 20wks that day. That evening we have invited all of our family over for a dinner to announce what we are having!!! I can hardly wait :)

Blah......

Well this was a busy weekend, we had a cookout on Saturday for Mom's and Uncle T's bday, and Sunday we had a rerun of the cookout, then went to Mom D's for dinner and games with N's family. Today N and I worked in the yard doing some much needed yard work, cleaned our patio set, picked some tomatoes out of the garden, etc. Then we had frozen (yes we cooked it!) pizza for lunch, watched "Hook" and took a nap. When we woke up we went with Mom and Dad to Baby's 'R Us to buy my boss's shower gift, then went to Paradocks for dinner. We decided that we will be registering at Baby's 'R Us. They have SOOO much cute stuff!!! Can't wait to know what gender we will be registering for!!!

As for me, I have felt very "Full" today (for lack of a better word). I am 15wks4days and just feel like I ate alot and sometimes that I really have to go to the bathroom and then when I get in there realize I didn't have to go as much as I thought!!! Sorry if TMI!! :P

Chrissy- only about 8 days left!!!!!!

So stoked!!!!

I am so excited. I was very lucky a few months ago and was given a brand new Graco Snugride Infant Carseat. I was thrilled.....until I found out that you cannot buy the matching stroller for the travel system. I did find out that Graco has a "frame-like" stroller that is made specifically for the infant carseats, where you just snap it in and go. WELLLL.....today I was returning home from running errands and around the corner from me was a Graco "frame" stroller on the curb!!!! I parked at the house, threw my groceries inside and ran (well not really but walked fast) over to the house to ask if the stroller was for the trash. I knocked on the door and the lady said I was welcome to it, that her brother had lived with them and left it. I looked it over and it's in EXCELLENT condition!!!!!!!!! I was soooooooo thrilled I took it home and tried my carseat in it and it worked PERFECTLY!!!!!!! That saved me about $90!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Mom!!!!!

Well today is my lovely mommy's birthday. First thing this morning I made her favorite, oatmeal raisin cookies, and picked her up some daisies to take to her house. Aunt Gwen came over and we enjoyed spending time with her and eating lunch with them. We are looking forward to tomorrow since we get to go with Mom, Dad, Megan, Chris, Bub and Jill....to BRAD PAISLEY!!!! w00t!!! I can hardly wait :) It should be a ton of fun (sorry you cant go Chrissy :( )

Baby Update:

As of tomorrow I will be 14wks!!! YAY!!!! My next dr's appt is August 5th, and the appt after that we should be able to find out the baby's gender!!! I can hardly wait to find out!!! I feel like then we can actually do things to start getting ready for baby's arrival. There are still quite a few people who are convinced that we are having a girl which would be SOOOO awesome!!! But we would be thrilled with a boy as well, still got 3ish kids to go before we are "done".

So anyway, I will try to keep this more updated :P, Chrissy just keep reminding me!!!!!

Zzzzzzzz.....

I am so tired of being tired....literally, I go to bed around 11pm at night, wake up around 9am (keep in mind I can't sleep straight through anymore, with potty breaks and burning up all night), but then I am exhausted again by like 11am....I usually take an hour or two nap in the afternoon/early evening and am still ready for bed by 9pm. I know my body is working hard right now but it is EXHAUSTING.....not to mention stress from everyday life. N. still has not found a job (it's been almost a month) which is getting very frustrating for him and tiring for me, since I know he's at home mostly playing on the computer, and I have to go to work 4 days a week. I know my work schedule isn't as bad as most peoples, but when I'm exhausted all the time it's very frustrating. Sorry I guess I just had to vent...

A girl on one of my BabyCenter Community Boards posted this and it just makes me laugh everytime I read it. Whether you are pregnant, have been, or are married to someone who is/has been, you will appreciate it:

"So since I've been pregnant a Whooping 8 weeks, I've decided that I now have sufficient knowledge about all things pregnancy. Please see below for my do's and don'ts!

Things to do while pregnant:
1) Be grateful if your not experiencing morning sickness. You are still pregnant with out it. Wishing you had morning sickness is like wishing you had the flu. And that's just silly.

2) Avoid the No-No foods (except for Hot Chocolate, that odd Coke here and there, the Subway sandwich you grabbed last Tuesday, the Mountain Dew that suddenly appeared in your car after leaving the gas station, the cup of coffee on your desk right now as you read this, that hot dog you are planning on having at your friends annual 4th of July party....)

3) Understand that as many books as your husband reads he will NEVER get that you are cranky just because.

4) Remain patient with your husband when he incessantly questions why you are cranky.

5) Reassure your husband 1,000+ times per hour that you are not cranky at him, you are not cranky at his Mom, you are not cranky at the cat, you are not cranky about work, you are not cranky about the state of the economy, you are not cranky that the sky wasn't a particularly spectacular shade of blue today and you are not cranky about pregnancy.

6) Drink plenty of water. About the amount in an Olympic swimming pool should suffice. (But don't drink the water out of an Olympic swimming pool. Chlorine is bad for baby)

7) Resign yourself that you will be up 10 times a night to pee. Make a game out of it. Keep a running count of the number of times you have to get up in the middle of the night. Take note of the final number. This is the number of times your husband has to tell you he loves you , worships you and is eternally grateful that you (not he) is carrying the child.

8) Take your prenatal vitamins. Ignore the fact that they create a feeling quite similar to battery acid in your stomach. This is the feeling of providing goodness to your lovely child.

9) Do accept number 8 as the very first thing that you have done for your child that they will never appreciate. This is the first of many.

10) Remember to exercise. Yes, I know that you have been up since dawn and that you've worked hard all day. And I know that you've just cooked a nutritious dinner for your family and now 'America's Next Top Model' is on and all you want to do is get off your feet for 5 minutes. Too bad! Suck it up and get out there and walk. It's good for baby! Count this as the second thing you've done for your child that they will never appreciate.

Things not to do while pregnant:
1) Do not yell at the ultrasound tech for making you drink an Olympic swimming pool's worth of water and then not allowing you to pee. She's just doing her job. Also, do your best to refrain from peeing on her.

2) Do not smack people for touching your tummy. It's rude to hit and they are just showing their affection. Show your affection back by rubbing their bottom.

3) Do not listen to people's advice. I'm sure you'll be tickled to know that Aunt Suzie's Second Cousin always hopped up and down on one leg for an hour every day to ensure she had a girl, but that's quite unrealistic. Not to mention tiring. Trust your instincts.

4) Do not forget to eat. You would think this would be a no brainer, what with TV showing all these pregnant ladies DIEING of hunger ALL the time. But in the first trimester...your not so much about the food. But the little one needs nutrients...and so do you. So try to choke something down.

5) Don't call your doctor a vampire to her face when she takes 9 vials of blood. Apparently, that's insulting. Wait until you leave to call them such names.

6) Don't buy 5 pregnancy books. Buy one. They all say the same things. Each and every one of them. They are like little paper clones. Trust me on this."

Easy like a Sunday morning.

Well today is Sunday (hence the title), and we have had a pretty relaxing morning so far. N. let me sleep in until 9am (I wish it had been noon!!) then we got up and I swept the house and got the laundry going. Today N. has a job interview at 5pm so I am really hoping it goes well for him. I don't really mind him not having a job, even though financially it is not ideal, but he is getting frustrated with it. Yesterday I worked 1-6, then went to Mom D's house for dinner and games. We had a good time, but I was exhausted. When we got home N. took my first "baby bump" picture, it was at 10wks1day. Well I am hoping to go to Mom and Dad's house for lunch today, if I stay awake, my eyes are getting very heavy......

Sitting around...

Well, today I was a bit scared because I missed a call from my dr's office. I listened to the voicemail fully expecting the worst (I don't know what I thought I would hear, I guess that I'm not really pregnant, although that's impossible). So anyway, the voicemail just says they want to move my appt up from July 8th to July 7th. I am pretty excited because that means we get to hear baby's heartbeat in 13 days!!!!! Well N. still doesn't have a job (not sure if I wrote about that on here, but he was 'let go' from his job just over 2 weeks ago). I am burning up so I think I'm gonna go turn a fan on or something. Hope everyone is doing well!!!!!

9 wks!!!!

Well today I am 9 weeks pregnant!!! YAY!!!! Baby is approximately 1" long this week, and the muscles are forming. So exciting!!!! Baby only has about 19" to go until we get to meet him/her!!!! My tummy is starting to firm up a bit, not that it was too flabby before *wink*...I can't wait until it looks like a baby bump and less like too much spaghetti!! Well this is Father's Day weekend and I am going to make a cake for N. tomorrow and spend some time with my daddy on Sunday (hopefully as just a family thing for awhile). I am really tired, this whole pregnancy thing sure can make you that way!!!!! Guess I better head off to bed. Have a great weekend!!

It's been awhile

Well everyone, sorry it has been so long since I last wrote (a month to be exact!!). I was afraid to write thinking that I might inadvertantly spill my secret. On May 15th when we got back from our trip we found out that we are pregnant!!!! I am 8wks 3days pregnant and my EDD is January 22, 2010. We are very excited as are our families. I get to hear the heartbeat on July 8th, which I am really looking forward to. We should get to find out if it is a boy or a girl in early September at the latest, so I am keeping my fingers crossed. At this point we don't really want a boy more than a girl or vice versa, we just want a good, safe pregnancy and a healthy baby. We are hoping to have 4 children total so we are too concerned about gender at this point. I will try to keep this a bit more up to date now that I don't have to worry about accidentally slipping on the secret :)

P.S.- By the way, the picture is of a "pregnant puppy" balloon animal my dad's coworker made for me :) So cute!!!

We're HOME!!!

I apologize to everyone who was looking for updates this week, the days were pretty packed and the nights were welcomed by me!! I was exhausted by the end of the days!!! We had a GREAT time!! We got home around noon today and Fenway was SOOO glad to see us (we were very glad to see him as well). I was hoping that my family could come over tonight to get their souvenirs but maybe Sunday....I will get pictures posted to my facebook soon!!!!!

St. Petersburg, FL!!!!!!!

Well we made it to St. Petersburg today around 3:00pm....we had about a 6 hour drive from Savannah here, it's beautiful!!! We are staying at a hotel near a marina, and our room overlooks the water. I love how many palm trees are here!! Tomorrow we are planning on going to "The Pier", which is a mall (essentially) on a pier, it looks really neat!! It has quite a few restaurants and several excursions that leave from there.

I got upset earlier today because I talked to Mom (to wish her a Happy Mother's Day) and she said that Fenway has been really depressed, he isn't eating or drinking as much as usual, and apparently is walking around the house whining. It made me cry, I don't want him to be sad!! I know he's "just a dog", but he's our baby!!! We don't want him to be depressed!! My sis and her b/f are watching him while we are gone, which makes me feel a little better because I know he isn't alone. Plus Mom is going over there pretty much everyday to let him out mid-day and spend some time with him. I know he enjoys the company!

Well, we just ate at a restaurant here at the hotel called Periscopes, it was SOOOO good!!! I got fresh tomatoes filled with tuna salad, and N. got a seasonal fruit platter...then for dessert I got a tri-layer chocolate cake (it was AMAZING!!!!!!) and N. got a Key Lime Pie (4 time national winner!!!!!)....so now we are watching the Devil Rays vs. Red Sox on TV and getting ready for bed.

Savannah

Well we made it to Savannah, after 8 hours of driving and fun!!!! We got to the Visitor's Center and they did not accept cash for the payment for the overnight parking, we ended up having to find an ATM at a bank, went to 2 other parking garages (all offices closed at 5pm, we got there around 5:10pm)....and then found out that we are not even allowed to park and sleep in the car (with or without the tent attachment). So...long story short we had to find a hotel for tonight and tomorrow, which is MUCH nicer than sleeping in the car and being awoke in the middle of the night by cops telling us we are trespassing!! Hahahaha.

Oh well, tomorrow we are planning on going site seeing down in the River Street district, looking at the mansions and Victorian houses, and going on a Ghost Tour at night. Should be LOTS of fun!! We are really looking forward to it after the day we had today!!

3 days to go!!!!!

Well today is Tuesday, last night N. and I went up to the outlet mall to the Bass Shoe store and bought a couple pairs of shoes. N. got a pair of dress and a pair of casual shoes and I got a pair of "boat shoes". Then we went to Carraba's which was good, but a little pricey, I would prefer Olive Garden over that anyday!!!! :P Only 3 days now until we leave for our trip, as per one of my dedicated reader (hi dad!) I will make an effort to post a blog every evening after we get to Florida. Oh well, I'm going to go clean and do things in preparation for the trip!!
